Furniture clinic

The Clinic is Blafink's way of giving furniture with good bones a second life. We reupholster, re-cushion and restore upholstered pieces, even those not made by us.

We do:

  • Fabric replacement
  • Cushion refills
  • Internal frame fixes
  • We typically help with

    • Fabric changes for sofas, beds, dining chairs, benches, ottomans
    • Replacing squashed foam and flat cushions
    • Fix internal frames
    • Minor touch ups on wooden legs and corners
  • We don't do

    • Furniture that is not upholstered e.g. solid wood beds
    • Frame alterations e.g. changing a divan to a storage bed
    • Leather bruise repairs
    • MDF furniture frames that crumble mid surgery

Antique and vintage pieces? We'll assess case-by-case. Send us a photo!

  • How much does the Clinic charge?

Reupholstery pricing depends on complexity, size and material but here's a guide:

    ARMCHAIR : from $765
    3-SEATER SOFA : from $1,590
    L-SHAPED SOFA : from $1,990
DINING CHAIR (SEAT ONLY) : from $120
DINING CHAIR (SEAT + BACK): from $190
QUEEN SIZED HEADBOARD : from $690
KING SIZED BED : from $1,300
    OTTOMAN : from $290

This pricing ballpark is based on our in house range of fabric. Refills, repair services, delivery and GST are charged separately.

  • Before you say yes...

We don't like surprises but reupholstery sometimes reveals hidden issues:

    1. Cracked frames, loose webbing is only visible after fabric removal.
    2. MDF board furniture often disintegrates during reupholstery.
    3. Designer furniture can be heavy and may need extra labour (and cost) to move.
    4. Furniture with electric charging ports, recliner mechanisms is unpredictable, we accept these jobs with caution.

If additional internal repairs are required, we regret that the original upholstery will be irreversibly damaged once removed. If you decide not to proceed, we will have to charge for a pro rated labour performed.

We’ll try our best to assess the work required with your photos.
